Sascha's has been one of Baltimore's premier caterers for over twenty years. We started as a small boutique caterer, presenting only the most creative and original menus for the fortunate few of Baltimore who had the daring and awareness to try something new. For many years, the catering business in Baltimore and most other large east coast cities, rarely ventured out from the traditional and routine.

Menus tended to be bland, presentation tended to be an afterthought, and service was usually unnoticed. In 1980, that all began to change. But first, just a little history.

In 1976, Sascha Wolhandler opened Baltimore's first outdoor café featuring crepes. They were prepared on authentic French crepe griddles, only available at the time from vendors in France, in one of the area's first outdoor exhibition styled kitchen on North Charles St. From Charles St and then on to Center Stage as a before and after theatre cafe, Sascha's became known for out of the ordinary food, presented in a way that no one else was doing at the time. It soon became clear that a small but growing group of Baltimoreans were interested in bringing this type of cuisine into their homes or other locations to share with others. So by public demand, and without any preplanned course of action, Sascha's became a caterer for those who wanted something stylish and creative. Sascha's Catering was born and during the past twenty years, has become a premier caterer in the metropolitan Baltimore area. Featured in Martha Stewart's special wedding magazine, Sascha's has received rave reviews for it's ingenuity, style, taste and dramatic presentations. As many people have increased their interest and awareness of modern food trends, Sascha's has maintained a reputation of staying ahead of the curve, yet still comfortable with traditional menus, offered with our stylish signature.
